Sometimes we get stuck. The story won’t come or we’re overworked. Right now, I’m fighting against it. What I really need to do is refill the well.
It’s about inspiration. You engage in other creative activities in order to do the main activity. It works and I intend to take advantage of it.
I’m a pantser which means I write by the seat of my pants. I don’t outline or plan much for entire books. Yet, sometimes I get caught in the middle of something and the words won’t come.
To help make my creative juices flow, I do something else. Tonight I plan to watch TV, read a book, and write anything other than my book. Other activities I’ve tried that work: taking a walk, a hot bath, making art, or going to a museum.
However you do it, enjoy yourself. Don’t force it. Then, go back to your main activity with fresh eyes.
